The Riot marketing system was founded by Jim Harshaw, an elite NCAA Division I athlete, successful small business owner and former Division I head coach. Jim's understands the power of athletics to change lives and his passion lies in entrenching athletics programs in their communities. He has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars and implemented marketing strategies that have filled gyms across the country. Riot is modeled after the fundraising program at The University of Virginia. Fundraising through fan raising. We create avenues for you to connect with your community, grow your fan base and cultivate a donor base. Email newsletters, a Facebook Fan Page, Twitter, program news blog, press releases to the media and more all in one step! Normally maintaining all of these lines of communication might be time consuming but not with the Riot system. We make it easy. - Do I need to know how to use Twitter? No. If you can send an email you can take your program to a new level. We make it easy.
- Do I have constantly update my Facebook Fan Page? Nope. That is all done with our one-step process.
- Will I have to create email newsletters? No. This happens without you doing anything outside of our one-step process.
- I hate asking for money. Do I need to make "the ask"? No. We do this for you. We can even set-up online donation capability if you do not already have it!

- Press Releases - You will receive prompts before and after each scheduled event reminding you to send a press release to your local media. Not only will you get the reminder, you will also get a press release template that you can easily update. What’s more, sending this to all your local media outlets, newspaper, radio and television, is only one simple email away.
- Human Interest Interviews - You will receive prompts every other week to interview an athlete, coach or alumni. This is vital to creating a human connection with your athletes and drawing in new fans. Each reminder will include suggested questions that you can email to your interviewee and can simply be emailed to be posted.
- Fundraising – Fundraising is made simple and completely automated. Each week your fans will get a gentle reminder from you without you having to remember to send them one. All you have to do is simply fill out a form with your top budget expense items for the next year and we will do the rest.
